Himalayan Adventure Camp 2017


Himalaya Adventure Course (HAC) is a certified course jointly conducted by GGIM & ABVIMAS. It is a customized course mainly for Avhaan participants of GGIM who have participated in various treks and adventure camps of Avhaan programme.

Having trained during various Avhaan treks and adventure camp at fort Sinhagad; they are now prepared to take on challenges of Himalayas. The course will have the following course contents:

The course fees are 20000/- (The fees are revised due to increased fees from ABVIMAS institute Manali)

Train Travel:

Pune to Delhi: 9th May 2017, reporting time: 2:30 PM, Pune Station (Train No.: 12147, Nizamuddin Express)

Delhi to Pune: Arrival in Pune: 22nd May 2017, 4:00 PM, Pune Station (Train No.: 12780, Goa Express)

Bus Travel:

Delhi to Manali: 10th May 2017   &   Manali to Delhi 20th May 2017 (Both overnight journeys)



Day 1– arrival, registration, opening address,museum visit, issue of equipment and lecture on rope and knots
Day 2– morning exercise, rock climbing, lecture on mountain manners, adventure movie
Day 3– morning exercise, rappelling,lecture on mountain hazards,obstacle course
Day 4-morning exercise,  hike to old manali, hadimba temple and visit manali town, next day preparation to move to solang
Day 5– trek to solang (13 kms, 8100feet), acclimatization walk to anjani mahadev temple
Day 6– trek to dhundi (7kms,9000 feet), lecture on surroundings flora and fauna,cultural programme
Day 7-trek towards beaskund (5kms,12000 feet) with pack lunch beyond the snowline and try to gain maximum height with the
         entire team,return to dhundi.
Day 8– return to solang, river crossing, lecture on casualty evacuation
Day 9-return to manali,  lecture on survival, visit manali town
Day 10-return equipment,closing ceremony,collect movement orders, post lunch or next day morning departure

  • Participants can carry approx. 2000/- as a pocket money for shopping at Manali.

PPS Climbing wall is up

16th Dec 2015. In a thundering applause and cheers, Ameya Tambat, a 10 year old kid from Pune, who recently made it among the top 6 climbers at National Level Sports Climbing Competition stepped up; attached rope to his harness and communicated to the belayer, “I`m climbing”.

Ameya had come from Vidya Valley School to demonstrate Artificial Wall Climbing Sport to the students of Pawar Public School (PPS), Hinjewadi. His amazing climbing skills and gecko movements on an overhanging wall left everyone enthralled.
For past three months, GGIM team has been relentlessly working on this Climbing Wall Construction Project for PPS, Hinjewadi. Under the guidance of Mr. Umesh Zirpe and under Bhushan, Dinesh and Vivek’s supervision, Prabhakar and his fabrication team spent countless sleepless hours to make the structure a perfect wonder. While Ganesh More, Anand Mali and Ranjit Shinde gave valuable inputs to make this wall unique and scientifically safe.

Yesterday, on 16th Dec 2015, PPS Principal Mr. Devendra Kumar welcomed everyone at the wall climbing arena. Bhushan oriented everyone about the current sports climbing scenario in India and abroad. Soon after that the climbing wall was inaugurated by Col. Raman Sharma in presence of dignitaries Deputy Director DSYS, Mr. N. B. Mote, Assistant Director, Deputy Director DSYS, Ms. Kavita Nalande, Vidya Valey School Principal Mr. Vivek Gupta, Giripremi President Mr. Anand Palande, Giripremi Co-founder Mrs. Ushaprabha Page, GGIM Director Mr. Niranjan Palsule and Giripremi Everest Expedition Leader Mr. Umesh Zirpe.

This is a great opportunity for PPS students and all the enthusiasts who wish to learn this sport. GGIM will soon conduct a Basic Sports Climbing Course which will be open for all.
