Trek to the foot of Highest mountain of the world has begun. GGIM’s first batch is launching the EBC trek on 14th. Here`s all the updates from the Solokhumbhu region!
Mt. Everest.. top of the world.. third pole of the earth.. 8848 mtrs! Ain’t that enough to blow your minds and pack your bags and hit the trails?? Everest Base Camp, EBC as its popularly known, isn’t just a physical trek but a journey along a well-marked trails with some of the mightiest, beautiful and even notorious mountains on the earth, following the footsteps of legendary mountaineers, pleasant hospitality and mountain delicacy of Nepal culture.
Finally the batch has safely landed to KTM; thus, their trek is complete. Tomorrow, the group shall fly back to Pune.
3rd May 2017:
Today the team has reached Lukla and are enjoying the last day of the trek. Tomorrow, they will fly to KTM. Hope they get good weather.
2nd May 2017:
Entire group is on its way to Namchebazaar. All are in absolute fit condition and high on EBC memories.
Chetan has moved ahead of the group and has already reached KTM. All the members are fine.
1st May 2017:
Team after completing the EBC returned back to Gorakhshep. From Gorakhshep, the group descended to Pheriche yesterday.
Today, they will hike till Namche Bazaar.
29th Apr 2017:
Today the whole team has successfully reached EBC.
Agarwal family had a unique experience of flying by chopper from Tengboche all the way to EBC. There, they met Mama, Vishal & Bhagwan and were completely overwhelmed by the extra ordinary views the mountain had to offer.
While, rest of the group trekked from Lobuche to Gorakshep and then to EBC. By 12:15 PM, they reached the base camp. All the members are perfectly fine and extremely happy to have reached EBC and to have greeted by mama with his quintessential grand welcoming at base camp tent.

The team has reached Lobuche. All the members are fit and eyeing to tomorrow’s long push to Gorakhshep & then EBC.

27th Apr 2017:
Today, the group went to Nagarjun Hill for acclimatization walk. The weather was clear and they had a very beautiful glimpses of Mt. Ama Dablam.
26th Apr 2017:
The team has moved up to their next destination Dingboche. From here the real altitude challenge, remoteness of the mountain will start playing effect. As of now, all of them are in good shape and excited to getting closer to the EBC.
The Agarwal family has chosen to stay back at Tengboche for extra rest. They will either join GGIM’s next batch which will reach Tengboche tomorrow or shall seek options to descend down as per their health conditions.
25th Apr 2017:
Finally some updates in visuals we have received from the group. Overall the group is doing excellent. They had a good acclimatization period at Namche and have reached Tengboche safely. There they will meet the batch 1, who are on their return journey after successfully reaching the EBC. You can see their story here.
Agarwal family was a bit slow in their trek but as of 5:30 PM, they are reaching Tengboche along with a sherpa guide.

Today, the team will be on its way to acclimatization walk. This active rest day will be an instrumental one in their subsequent success at EBC & Kalapatthar.

Entire team has successfully reached the Namche bazaar. Some headaches are usual but other than that all are doing excellent and excited for tomorrow’s acclimatization hike to Everest view hotel. First glimpses of her and her siblings.. Lhotse, Ama Dablam!

The team reached Lukla. After having lunch they proceeded to Phakding. Phakding is at a lower altitude than Lukla. So they will have some rest as well as acclimatization so as to tackle tomorrow’s mighty Namche Bazaar Challenge.
Today the group arrived at KTM airport for Lukla at 10:00 AM and they have now flown at 11:30 AM. Lets hope that the group lands in Lukla and continues for the trek.

The team has left from Pune. Some of the members are from Singapore, who will join the crew at KTM itself. Neha, GGIM volunteer, has already reached KTM and she will be their at Airport to receive the members.
