Kedarkantha is located in the Uttarakhand Himalayas, at an elevation is 12,500 ft (3,800 m) approx.. People often get confused between Kedarkantha Trek and Kedarnath. Kedarnaath is a well-known pilgrimage place near Joshimath while Kedarkanth is a mountain peak in Govind National Park.
The climb to the peak of Kedarkantha starts from a small village called as Sankri. The trek route takes you through the lush green meadows till a blanket of snow. Yes..! You heard it right, isn't it fascinating to pack your bags and start your journey to our beloved Himalayas ?

Detailed itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival at Dehradun and Drive to Sankri
Reporting at Dehradun Airport. There will be a private Jeep arranged from Dehradun up to Sankri. Sankri is located at a distance of 220kms from Dehradun. It’s a long scenic drive providing absolute comfort to the trekkers so that they can enjoy the beauty of the location. It takes about whole day to reach Sankri. In the midst one can enjoy the lunch break at the popular eateries having some local food and homemade spices. The last 22 kms to Sankri is all the more exciting since it travels through the avid collection of flora typical of this region and not found in any other location of the country. (Meals : D)
Day 2: Trek From Sankri To Juda Ka Taal ( 9,000 ft)
A wholesome and nutritious breakfast after the night's rest is something which cannot be expressed in words... On the way to Juda Ka Taal, you will witness small/remote villages, pine and oak trees around and of course , all this with a Himalayan Backdrop of Snow clad mountains. Juda Ka Taal, a remote lake tucked away in the grandeur of the snow-capped mountains is the ideal place for camping. One can sit for hours gazing at stars and enjoying the twilight at camping site. Day 3: Trek From Juda Ka Taal To Kedarkantha Base (11250ft)
Second day of the actual trek... You will be heading to Kedarkantha base. The entire hike takes you through forest trails, lush green meadows and the fascinating views It’s the most enthralling trail with finest stretches and leaves us behind with unforgettable experiences. Trek through forest heavily occupied by pine and oak trees that give these mountains its distinct charm. Arrive at an open meadow at the summit’s base, set up camp for the night and good night! Day 4: Trek To Kedarkantha Summit And Descend to Juda Ka Taal (8900ft)
Gangotri and Yamunotri Ranges, Ascending and Descending Trek. It’s going to be a long day so healthy breakfast is a must. We shall be ascending to the Kedarkantha peak (3,850m). The climb is steep but worthwhile and one with rewarding views. Then our descending trekking will be started towards base camp and have lunch there. After lunch, we will proceed towards Juda Ka Taal and will stay at Juda Ka Taal. (Meals : B , L ,D)
Day 5: Trek From Juda Ka Taal Back To Sankri (6500ft)
It’s time to backpack to Sankri, along with open views of snow covered mountains and down hill villages . And finally reach at Sankri in guest house and. (Meals : B , L ,D)
Day 6: Departure
Drive to Dehradun. (Meals : B)

HOW TO REGISTER:
Step 1: Fill up Online enrollment form. (The form should be filled only once. If you have filled it already you need not to refill.)
Step 2: Medical form from a medical practitioner.
Step 3: Download Indemnity bond, and print first page of the form on 500 Rs. stamp paper, fill the form and get it notarized by a legal practitioner. (Please note that the indemnity bond should be submitted only once)
(There are separate indemnity bonds for adults and minors. In case of minors, participant has to procure a consent letter from parents. We will share the format once you register)

Step 4 : Payment methods

Pay the trek fees by cheque in the name of “Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering”

Bank details are given below –
5,000/- to be paid at the time of initial booking and balance 30 days prior to the trek.
– Cancellation 30 days before the starting date of the trek — Get a refund deducting 15% cancellation charges on the total trek fee
– Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days before the starting date of the trek — Get a refund deducting 50% cancellation charges on total trek fee
– Cancellation less than 15 days before the starting date of the trek — No refund will be applicable for the same.
In case of natural disasters like earthquake in 2015 or Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020, if the entire trek gets cancelled then depending on the stage of trek, we shall deduct the actual expenses which may have happened like Transport and Hotel advances, porter advances etc. and remaining fees will be refunded.
