Description

Adventure Club – SNDT Arts & Commerce College for Women : Shivneri Fort & Naneghat – Women’s Day Special Trek

Trek destination: Shivneri Fort and Naneghat

GGIM proudly presents a special one-day trek to Shivneri Fort and Naneghat, organized exclusively for the Adventure Club – SNDT Arts & Commerce College for Women on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

This unique trek is designed to honor and explore the legacy of powerful women in Indian history. Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is closely associated with Rajmata Jijabai, regarded as the pillar of Swarajya and a timeless symbol of women’s strength and leadership. The trek also includes Naneghat, an ancient trade route of the Satavahana period, historically linked with Rani Naganika, who played a significant role in its development.

The day combines trekking, heritage exploration, and historical learning. Participants will experience the fort’s grand entrances, water systems, and panoramic views, followed by a visit to the iconic Naneghat pass known for its rock-cut caves and inscriptions. Organized by Giripremi’s Women Mountaineers, this trek offers a meaningful blend of adventure, history, and empowerment in a safe and structured environment.
