MUKTANGAN SCHOOL

Muktangan School, in association with GGIM, successfully introduced the ANU (Avhaan–Nirmaan–Udaan) Program and Adventure Club during the academic year 2025–26 as an initiative focused on holistic student development through experiential learning and outdoor education. The collaboration was launched with a vision to nurture confidence, responsibility, leadership, and essential life skills while developing a meaningful connection with nature among students. The Avhaan program was introduced for students of Grades 5 and 6, while the Adventure Club was designed for students from Grade 7 onwards, creating a progressive learning pathway that combines adventure with education.

Throughout the year, students participated in a wide range of outdoor experiences across the Sahyadri region, transforming natural landscapes into classrooms for learning and growth. A total of 336 student participations across nine treks were successfully conducted with the support of 36 GGIM instructors, reflecting strong student engagement and a highly structured learning approach.

The journey began with treks to destinations such as Kalyangad, Lohagad, Bhorgiri–Gupta Bhimashankar, Rohida Fort, Disu Waterfall, Kusur–Waghoba, Duke’s Nose, and Valane Hills. Through these experiences, students explored historical heritage, biodiversity, geography, local culture, and environmental awareness while learning practical outdoor skills and teamwork. Activities encouraged students to understand concepts beyond textbooks and helped develop resilience, discipline, responsibility, communication, and decision-making abilities.

More than adventure activities, these experiences became a platform for character building and personal growth. Students learned to adapt to challenges, support one another, and appreciate the value of collective effort while stepping outside their comfort zones. Guided by GGIM’s philosophy of “Enjoy the Discomfort,” students gradually developed confidence, self-reliance, and an adventurous spirit.

The continued association between GGIM and Muktangan School represents a shared commitment towards creating meaningful educational experiences that extend beyond conventional learning. Through ANU and the Adventure Club, students are not only developing outdoor skills but also growing into confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals prepared for challenges both inside and beyond the classroom.
