ANU ASSESSMENT

BRIEF OF ANU ASSESSMENT

A Brief about ANU Assessment

Avhaan Nirmaan Udaan (ANU) is a structured syllabus in adventure education. In each level, there are one day treks, Sahyadri multiday programme and Himalaya programme. Unlike just a trekking activity, ANU an educational curriculum in outdoor settings. Students are expected not to miss any activity. If they miss, then they miss not just the trek, but the learning elements associated with it. Along with the trek, instructors interact with students about the surroundings and topics related to them. In addition to that, there is a dedicated syllabus which is discussed. Students are expected to observe all inputs and express their thoughts, feelings, observations in the journals provided. After each trek, we provide children with an online quiz. They are expected to solve it and submit.

After each trek, students are assessed by our instructors based on their active participation and involvement during treks and activities. Residential activities gain more weightage and are assessed on additional parameters such as behaviour, attitude, skills, and so on.

While our motto is always to encourage students and help them excel to next levels, assessing the students and making them realise their strengths and scope for improvement are vital elements as its a structured curriculum.

Based on overall attendance, assessments by instructors, and quiz scores, students are provided with a yearly report card at the end of the year. A sample format is displayed here. Out of 100, min score required to qualify for the next level is 50. Soft skills assessments happens only during the residential activities. So, to qualify for the next level, one must do at least one residential activity out of the two.

We provide the schedule of the entire year at the beginning. So, we hope that students not miss any activity unless there is an emergency.

We wish all our young adventurers a wonderful year of exploration, learning, self-discovery, and growth through the unique journey of ANU.

Best Wishes,
Team GGIM
