Description

Swadhaa Waldorf School – Malhargad Fort Trek

Hello Adventure Enthusiasts and Parents,

Get ready to explore Malhargad Fort, also known as Sonori Fort, a beautiful hill fort located near Saswad, about 30 km from Pune. Situated in the Bhuleshwar range of the Sahyadris, the fort offers a wonderful mix of history, nature and adventure.

Built in 1775, Malhargad is known as the last fort built by the Marathas. The fort was built to keep watch over the important Dive Ghat route between Pune and Saswad. At the base of the fort lies Sonori village, which gives the fort its other name.

As we make our way along the trail, we’ll explore the historic fort and discover its two beautiful temples dedicated to Khandoba and Mahadeva. From the top, enjoy scenic views of Jejuri, Parvati Hills and the surrounding Sahyadri landscape.

This trek is planned as a family adventure, giving parents and children an opportunity to trek together, explore nature and create memorable experiences as a family.
