Vivek Shivade & Varun Bhagwat boldly attempts Mt. Meru East Face

Giripremi team managed to climb up to 5800 m on the most iconic and technically challenging east face of Mt. Meru. 

Led by Shri. Umesh Zirpe, the Founder Director of GGIM and the recepient of Shivchhatrapati Award, team of Mingma Sherpa, Vivek Shivade, Varun Bhagwat, Nikunj Shah, Dr. Sumit Madale, Ganesh More made a brilliant ascent to the peak. 

But the team faced severe bad weather on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, they couldn’t summit. 

It was a terrific attempt though and was quite deeply appreciated in the climbing fraternity. But we haven’t yet given up on Meru. It’s a prestigious climb as well as one that demands commitment and patience. So we hope to try it again next year.
