Hello Adventure Enthusiasts and Parents,
Please find the details of the upcoming trek below:
Level: Avhaan
Trek Destination: Rohida Fort
About Rohida Fort
Rohida Fort, also known as Vichitragad, is a historic hill fort located near Bhor in Pune District, Maharashtra. Situated amidst the scenic Sahyadri ranges, the fort offers beautiful views of the surrounding valleys, hills and countryside.
The fort is believed to have been built during the Yadava period and later came under the control of various rulers. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured Rohida Fort in 1656, after which it became an important part of the Maratha fort network. The fort has witnessed several phases of Maratha history and later came under British control.
The trek to Rohida Fort takes participants through the rugged landscape of the Sahyadris and includes rocky trails, stone steps, fortification walls, gateways and remnants of the historic structures. The fort’s location and terrain make it an excellent destination for developing endurance and outdoor awareness.
The trek provides participants with an opportunity to explore the history, architecture and natural surroundings of the fort while developing confidence, endurance, teamwork and essential outdoor skills.
