Hello Adventure Enthusiasts and Parents,

Please find the details of the upcoming trek below:

Level: Avhaan
Trek Destination: Lohagad Fort

About Lohagad Fort

Lohagad Fort is a historic hill fort located near Lonavala in Pune District, Maharashtra. Situated in the Sahyadri ranges, the fort is surrounded by scenic valleys, hills and the beautiful landscape of the Western Ghats.

The fort has a long history and has been under the control of several rulers. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured Lohagad in 1648, and the fort later became an important part of the Maratha military network. Its strong fortifications and strategic location made it an important position for controlling the surrounding region.

The trek to Lohagad Fort takes participants through forest trails, stone steps, fortification walls, gateways and historic structures. The famous Vinchu Kata, a long fortified spur extending from the main fort, offers an opportunity to observe the strategic design and geographical significance of the fort.

The trek provides participants with an opportunity to explore the history, architecture and natural surroundings of Lohagad while developing confidence, endurance, teamwork and essential outdoor skills.
