Description

Nirmaan Activity for the Month of July 2026

Hello Adventure enthusiasts and Parents,

Please find details of the upcoming trek below:

Level: Nirmaan
Trek destination: Hadsar Fort

Hadsar Fort is a historic hill fort located near Junnar in Pune district, Maharashtra, at an elevation of around 3,200 feet . It is part of the well-known Junnar fort belt, which also includes Shivneri Fort.
The fort is famous for its impressive rock-cut entrance, The Maha Darwaja, carved directly into the basalt rock of the Sahyadri ranges. The steep, narrow stone steps and fortified gateways highlight the advanced military architecture of its time. Historically, Hadsar Fort held strategic importance as it overlooked important ancient trade routes in the region and later came under the control of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during the Maratha period. There are rock-cut water cisterns, remains of fortification walls, a small temple, and a wide plateau offering panoramic views of nearby forts such as Chavand and Nimgiri.
