This session introduces participants to the fundamentals of risk assessment and management in outdoor environments, helping them identify potential hazards and understand the importance of making safe decisions during adventure activities. Students will also be introduced to MMRCC (Maharashta Mountaineers Rescue Co-ordination centre) and its role in mountain rescue, emergency response, and promoting safety in the outdoors.
The session will cover the importance of appropriate outdoor clothing, including layering, fabric selection, and dressing according to changing weather conditions to remain comfortable and safe during treks. Alongside these practical topics, participants will learn about the Sahyadri mountain ranges of the Nashik region, exploring their geography, important forts and peaks, biodiversity, and historical significance, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the region they will explore in future adventures.
